NEW YEARS EVE

OK My Dear Friends
I can now let the wrapping off of the gift. I am co-hosting a Jamfest with my partner, Benji Rosenzweig in putting on the Ultimate Detroit Music New Years Party.
So with out further ado, NOW MORE THAN EVEN PRODUCTIONS in partnership with WHY YOU JAM presents:
A PRIVATE NEW YEARS EVE PARTY featuring
Brando and Friends http://www.myspace.com/brandoandfriends
Brando is well known as a guitar and string virtuoso, who cut his teeth in jamband scene the critically acclaimed Electric Magi. He has appeared on stage with Steve Kimock, Garaj Mahal, the Everyone Orchestra and ekoostik hookah Brando has continued to be a studio musician with Matt Keil, ekoostik hookah. Catfish Mafia Greg Aranda and Blackswamp Ramblers as well as releasing solo material. You may be surprised when you listen to your favorite local band and learn that Brando did some of the dub work. His current band Brando and Friends plays all things Jerry Garcia, Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, Led Zeppli and even the sound of Motown where it mixed with the jamband scene
Flophouse Band www.flophouseband.com
I met these guys at the Detroit Music Awards this past spring. I was immediately taken. They are the true embodiment of the Detroit Jazz Funk Soul sound. I say DEEEEEEEEEEEEETROIT because these boys hail from the blue collar roots of the downriver area. When they hit the Stage, they hit it hard. And you cannot help but get off your ass and dance. I have been on a personal mission to spread this band to the masses. Now, you all can come join me and see what you think.
and last but not least
Covert Operations http://www.covertopsband.com/
Dallas and the Boys (I say the boys with love because Derek, Kedree and Damon Young are siblings; and lets not leave out Allistar) have been kicking it around the scene for quite a while now. They are the hometown boys that did well. They have toured nationally and have been featured at some of the bigger festies such as hookahville, 10K Lakes and tons of big festivals at Nelson Ledges. Dallas is one of the kindest souls I know. The sound of Covert Ops is contagious. They take a simple jam and just build layers and layers of music into. While their sound has influences of some of our favorite jambands, I have to admit as a long time fan, though, it’s their own unique sound that draws me.
Our show is a PRIVATE party, with tickets costing $30. Since this is a private show, we are not bound by Bar time. So, who know what time the event will go on to.
Where Magnetic Recording (formerly RKS Studios). 17 W Lawrence Street Pontiac ( one block north and west of 7 N Saginaw Street) Folks this is a state of the art recording studio with a 128 track recording board in the back of venue. Bands from all over the country come here to record. The front of the venue has a stage and amble dance area. In addition, there is an audio booth and a video booth to help, with the best computer graphics around, create the ultimate ambient soundscape for your pleasure.
Cost $30 prepaid. We are setting up various payment options right now. Light food and drinks will drinks will be provided. A portion of the money will be donated to local charity
So, we hope to see y'all there to help us ring in the NEW YEAR Detroit Jamband Style
Much love,

Must see show Thursday

Hi There
I know we all are being festive and what not. But, I would be remiss to not mention that Grace Potter and the Nocturnals will be playing the Magic Bag on Thursday.
I first saw Grace at the Langerado Music Festival this past spring. I took them in while hanging out with members of Railroad Earth, their crew and mgmt. I was impressed with her energy. She can play a mean piano and guitar. I felt a bit of Janis Joplin in her, sans the booze and drugs.
I then saw Grace at Dunegrass. Upfront and in the flesh. I am telling you there were many converts that day.
Here is a link to a very recent show. www.archive.org/details/gpn2008-12-06.km184.flac16
Let's show support for her here in Ferndale
And Stayed tuned . . . . I am putting on a New Years Show in Pontiac with my Partner Ben Rosenzweig. Photos by up and coming photographer Drew Bender and a live audio visual extraganza that will blow your socks off. Just working out the final details with licenses and what not
